Projects!

08 February, 2010

My life revolves around my to do list, and my to do list is always full of projects. This weekend I checked one item off the list and added two more.

First, I finished up these cute little produce bags and then carried them with me to the farmers market on Saturday.

At the market, I picked up an unexpected project – an orchid. I have always heard they are difficult to care for, so I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a plant with little hope of survival. As it turns out, the guy selling the orchids wanted to leave early and decided to halve the price. He also decided to halve the care instructions, telling us only to water the orchid once every three weeks and to leave it in a warm, humid part of the house. Seeing as I am bundled up under a blanket right now, I doubt that Miss Orchid is getting the steamy temperatures that she desires. I’ll just move her closer to the dishwasher when it is running. Maybe it won’t be such a big project after all.

This last project is something that I have been pondering since the beginning of the new year. Two years ago, I completed Project 366 – a photo a day, every day for the entire year (and it was a leap year). This year I wanted to come up with a photo project that is more collaborative in nature. Well, I finally thought up something that I am really excited about, and now I just need some photo buddies to share it with. So this is a call to anyone who loves to takes pictures – leave a comment or send me an email and I’ll give you the details. You can be involved on a regular basis or as a one time thing. The idea is to have fun, to take some photographs with purpose, and to connect with fellow photo friends. Here is a link to the 3191 website that inspired my current notion.

That’s all for now. I hope to hear from some of you very soon.
